Confirmation

Confirmation is the process where Junior High students starting in 6th grade are offered a three-month program (end of January-April) which, after completion, youth may join the church as full members on Confirmation Sunday normally held on a Sunday in the beginning of May.  Youth grow spiritually and better understand their faith through weekly classes, a cross-cultural worship experience, service, and a retreat. Curriculum used in this class comes from the Claim the Name Confirmation Materials published by Cokesbury.

The purpose of Confirmation is to invite those youth who seek to join the United Methodist Church in a safe environment to learn about the Christian Faith and Methodist practices. These youth will walk in faith with one another and joined by a Friend in Faith from the congregation who will act as an encourager and fellow follower of Christ. Information regarding Confirmation will be distributed to all junior high youth in December.
