Child Development Center

Holy Covenant Child Development Center provides an early childhood program based on the developmental principles that children learn best by being actively involved in their world.  Activities are planned to meet the children’s needs and stimulate learning in the developmental areas.  Each day the children will participate in center time, circle time, playground time, free and planned art projects and snack.  Each week the children participate in movement and music classes.  Once a month the children attend Children’s Chapel.

We believe that the most important asset of our school is the quality of our teachers.  Our teachers are caring, nurturing individuals who love children and are trained in early childhood education.  Teachers are required to obtain 20 or more hours of continuing education classes each year.  We strive to maintain the best learning environment by providing small class sizes with excellent staff-child ratios. 

Parents of our students have many opportunities to participate in activities with their children.  There are several holiday parties throughout the year where parents not only attend, but also help provide the treats and plan the activities.  In the fall, we invite families to a Family Art Night where parents and children can create art projects.  We also invite preschool parents to join their children for a lunch time Thanksgiving feast.  The winter brings Christmas programs and a Father’s Night in which dads come in the evening to enjoy time with their child in planned activities.  We end the year in the spring with our Mother’s Day Breakfast for our moms and their children. 

Holy Covenant Child Development Center, now entering its 21st year, is accredited by the National Accreditation Commission for Early Care and Education Programs.  This accreditation is awarded to schools that have gone through a comprehensive process, including an internal self-study and a visit from the NAC validators to verify compliance with their criteria for High Quality Early Childhood Programs.  This accreditation assures parents that our school exceeds all minimum standards.  NAC requires that schools be re-accredited every three years to assure ongoing compliance.
